Oh the boat was used by the PO. Not very often, but they did take it out every once in a while. I have the receipt from the last time he had fuel delivered...id have to go dig it out to see when it was but it wasn't all that long ago.

You guys clearly have had qualified people look at it and make a qualified conclusion. Hopefully the issue is resolved and you can move on!

Running great! Went about 60 miles round trip the other day. No problems at all.
We're down to less then 1/4 tank now and we've got a fuel delivery scheduled.

Good to hear, Stars. By the way, when you say back there, all three engines stopped almost simultaneously, do you mean both twin mains and a generator..? If so, why were you running the generator as well as the mains? Do you not have adequate alternators to run things when under way..? Also, are all three petrol engines, even the generator. I would have thought that would be diesel? Just trying to get my head around this "all three engines" business. Don't know why - just find it intriguing I guess...

Pete, yes, by three engines we mean two mains and the generator. All three are gasoline (petrol) engines. All three pull from the same single fuel tank but each has its own fuel pick up. The alternators on the mains are well sized to handle all the 12 volt system needs. We run the generator to power the 110 volt systems like air conditioners. On that day we were running the generator while underway to power the air conditioning. We have two air conditioning units on the boat. We were also running it to give it some good run time under load which it handled beautifully until the fuel incident.

At this time, we consider the fuel incident to be resolved. We have reviewed all of our systems and are confident the water was not present prior to fueling and that none of our fuel fill connections leak. We have reached an agreement with the fuel dock operator on resolution and all is good now.

While a diesel generator would be more efficient, as long as the mains remain petrol the generator will as well simply to avoid the added headaches of two fuel types on board. That would lead to even greater potential for fuel mishaps I think.

And to avoid ignition protection issues.
