I'm new around here, thanks for having me :). I hope to get some info about this keel.
It is on a Monk 40. Here is the Yachtworld listing- 1982 Monk Trawler Power Boat For Sale - www.yachtworld.com

Her sistership is in Spain. Here is an old listing on her-
Vedette HIPTIMCO MARINE - TRAWLER HIPTIMCO MONK 42 - Annonce de vedette d?occasion à vendre proposée par le courtier en bateaux XBOAT

Has anyone seen this before? Had a boat with this type of configuration?

At first I thought it was for sitting high and dry at low tide. But could this be about lateral drag?

Thanks for any input.

I had a listing of a 40' Monk that I sold back in 2007. It did not have a keel configuration like this. From looking at it , the design looks like it would be great to lessen roll when on the hook. I have sold boats with "bilge keels" and this would accomplish the same thing.
here is a picture of the Miss Heather also built by Hiptimco.

Thanks! where you on her sea trial? Did she seem to roll more that the usual? I've read that these hulls can be a bit rolly. Wondering if you thought so too.

Thanks for the input!!

Just to follow up. I did get conformation from a commercial worker that this is an anti roll device. :) pretty cool.
