Looking for suggestions on how to easily and securely fasten Standard Horizon HX851 VHF in cockpit.

I thought there might be a case that I could clip or snap onto something in the cockpit. Surprised there wasn't something easy to find.

If you google "handheld VHF holder" you'll find a bunch of solutions

That's what I use on my center consoles. Work great.

Cupholders work pretty well for me. Like the Beckson, though - hmmmm

Home Depot carries a 3M product that is like a plastic velcro. Holds my VHF just fine. You can remove the radio then put it back into place. It's not hook and loop, it's like a snap locking material. I also use it to mount anything to a wall or bulkhead. If I recall it supports 10 pounds per square inch.

It's also great to secure things to a counter top. We use it under the legs of a microwave and a toaster oven.

Go to any marine store (like WM) and peruse their "Winch Handle holder" selection. Take your handheld with you to see which fits best.

They are deeper so antennas don't get broken off. And also are deep enough to tuck various written things in ( Dock plans, magazines, lock info, etc etc) so they don't blow away also.
