Just got a new dinghy!
We've had all sorts over the years - mostly RIBs, but a friend had one of these on the Christmas cruise and I was so impressed I bought one as soon as I got back.

The link tells you all about them except, I think it is considerably lighter than the stated 38kg - more like 28kg. Ours is the 3.0m version.

With a 5hp Yamaha and one person on board, it really flies - 15kn on the iphone Navionics GPS. However, it will not plane with more than one person, but still give an acceptable speed.**

Jeff,
I like it a lot and I'm not a Rubber Duckie fan. Didn't see any seats in the pics.
Are you expected to sit on the tubes and get your but wet? More like a raft than a boat but I can see one could do great things w that in a remote anchorage. And I just happen to have an 8 hp Yamadog. Thanks for showing.

Hi Eric,
There is a seat , although I haven't had it out of its wrapper yet. Sitting on the tube works fine - you only get wet when going*WOT*and crossing a wake.. The tubes are very large diameter so keep you well clear of the water.

Its rated for 3 people but I've had 5 in it and we all*stayed dry.

Dinghies are a lot of fun!!! Although I would say it looks wet. Of course I am assuming planing speeds ref the wetness of the ride. can you strap a 15hp on there???

Rated for a 20hp. Would do 40kn!

YeeeHawww.....now we're talkin'!!!!! *Although I have seen Doug turn ash white after almost killing himself doing speeds he shouldn't be doing in a dinghy. *40kts in that thing on anything but smooth water would be a religious experience!!!!

Those cat Aussie racing inflatables are the bomb!!... they ride really great... especially when overpowered!
search you tube for their racing exploits.. and the stability is second to none..

Yeah I have seen them out here and normally with a 40 hp Tohatsu on the back.
I think the original was called a Thunder Cat.
They really fly.
Can't see the boss going ashore to pick up the groceries that fast.
