Hi all,

I'm traveling up the ICW and need to replace my inverter batteries. Any recommendations for a marine electric guy to do this in Charleston, SC or near their? Thanks.

Thanks Wesk. I appreciate the info.

Does Sonny's work out of Riversedge Marina?

Yes and no. He used to be the RiversEdge mechanic but he is on his own now. He does a lot of work there still. I talked to him on the dock a couple weeks ago.

I recommend Ralph Phillips at Santee Industrial. A few dollars more than Batteries Plus but they will come to you, clean the battery boxes, install new batteries and take away the old batteries. It was worth the extra cost to me for 4 8D's. Number is (843) 729-5223.

A different concept is Sears golf cart batts.

The warranty is good at every Sears .

Other big box stores are similar .

Even GC batteries are a PITA. I paid $1100 for 10 235 amp GC batteries, installed and old hauled off. The additional few shekels were well spent for the install.

1100.00 for ten batteries installed sounds great. But I can't find the Pita store any where on line?

It was 8 batteries. The web site is santeeindustrial.com. The main number is 843 552-8263. The other number is Ralph's cell phone.
