This photo was taken in Montague in 2010. One of our favorite boating days.

The vessel in the foreground is a 1964 Ed Monk cruiser. I understand 4 of these boats were built that year and 2 of them remain in quite good condition, including this one.

These boats were used as 'missionary' boats, ostensibly serving as preacher taxi's to the islands back in the day.


You may notice my boat in the background, with the riding sail. We were delighted to meet one of the boats that our boat was built to look like in Montague harbor that day.

Isobel K was modeled after the design of this boat, although 2/3rd's the original size and minus the flybridge, plus launched much later in 1998 and with modern construction and equipment.

That Monk sure looks great w/o a bow pulpit. Nothing to mess up her clean lines. Older boats looked better.
 
Isobel K really is a nice looking boat as well. Classic appearance.
 
Five olives in a martini - wish I had thought of that! Now. I know . . .
