I have a 4.236 with a CAV injector pump that leaks around one of the injector line connectors. It's very hard to tell but it looks like it's leaking between the connector and the bottom of the pump. I have tightened the bolt to the point where I'm afraid to strip it or twist it off. I have also replaced the washer but it still leaks even though the fuel is not under pressure. Anyone have any ideas?

Isolate the problem in one of three areas - fitting, line or pump base. It could be any of three. With the right camera/mirror you may be able to get a picture and blow it way up to see where leak is.

The Perkins 4-236 uses "olives" (rubber gaskets) over the end of the fuel lines to seal the connection. Overtightening the nut will break the olive and fuel will leak between the nut and pipe.
