Well, how come it did it this time?

I've had the same issue and gave up. Tried numerous times and the sane response.

If going via the 'manage attachments' route, from the 'advanced' posting window, which is the best way, you need to allow time for the upload of the image to complete before closing that upload window, after you have selected the image by browsing through your pics from the 'choose file' button.

Sometimes that upload takes time as it occasionally hangs for a while, so best to be patient at this stage, or of you close this window too soon, the pic is lost.

Also, make sure you select the 'submit' button from the foot of the upload window which shows your image file listed, because if you select the 'submit' button from the window above that, again, it will be lost.

Just started a thread in classified.I would like to add more than one pic in the post, say maybe 4.I have never been able to add more than 1 pic per post . I'm using my I phone or I pad . What am I doing wrong ?

Marty: With the iPad, try posting by getting to the forum by using a browser like Chrome and not the TF App. When your are in advanced, you should be able to upload as many as 10 pictures per post. You may want to resize them for easier loading. I resize to 1000 by 750 pixals.

I apologise for my lack of skills but I'm still having issues trying to update my profile pic.
It always responds "failed to upload". It isn't a large file.
:nonono:
My bad, it's the avatar i'm trying to update. It's done.
Thanks for your patience.

Go to UserCp on the upper left hand corner of the menu bar.

Scroll down to Settings and Options...choose 'edit avatar'

choose the brose option under the 'upload Image From Your Computer '

Find the picture you want and choose save once it has uploaded.

What I'm puzzled with is why some YouTube video links are doubled in some posts and not others.

Probably because the links to the videos were placed twice by the poster. You can report these when you see them and we'll clean it up ;)

Well done site, well managed etc. but the pictures and attachments is the most convoluted and complicated process that I ever saw !. ... :) I'm not new to computers or member boards but this one takes the cake. I tried n tried and I still can't wrap my head around this one ... LOL just venting here ....

You can always host your photos on a hosting site such as PhotoBucket and then just use the IMG tags to place them here - you will find it more flexible.

ExSailor, Try this.

Trawler Forum - How to Post a Picture

If that doesn't work for you, send me a PM with your phone number and I'll call you and walk you through it. Like a lot of things on a boat, it might seem clumsy the first time, but then it gets easier.

I agree with the suggestion that using a image hosting site and pasting in the IMG tags works very well.

I just joined today and posted one pic on my post with no problem just using the manage images tool. On another forum one MUST use an image host like Photobucket, nothing else will work as for some reason the in house pix poster will NOT function for anyone.

Yes, thankfully, the software running on this forum is very user-friendly. I am on several others, medical ones in particular, which are not at all user friendly, so I know what you mean. Pleasant surprises are always nice, aren't they..?:D
