Trawler Fest - A Newbie's Reaction

The Admiral and I just wrapped up our first time attendance at Trawler Fest in Florida. In a word, we thought it was great! While wandering the docks admiring boats that for the most part we wiĺl never afford, the true value was in the seminars. We attended some of the sessions together and split up for others. They were all well done and useful. I have to say the two half days presentation by Steve Zimmerman on boat maintenance was just outstanding. It was worth the price of admission alone. The other highlight was socializing and chewing the fat with other trawler owners. So our bottom line is - if you are a new trawler owner, try to get to one of these events at least once.

I m going to have to attend anther one soon.


I attended one and asked to get "hired" via my West Marine's connection. I taught a few seminars, sat on a few panels for several Trawlerfests and loved every minute of it.


Definitely used to be a different experience than most boat shows...hope that never changes.
