C & L Searanger owners

Dear all
I am the proud owner of my second C & L Searanger (A 1979 45' Pilot house)
I am in the process of restoring the vessel fully, over some time of course.
I absolutely love the boat and keen to get into discussion with other owners to Share my experiences during the restoration process.
I have had quite a number of boats , mostly trawlers with one exception being a 56' Vetec Sports fisher. I did own a custom 1984 C & L Searanger 65, of which I also loved, however as you can imagine it was quite a hand full, My current 45' Pilot house is just right. still a lot of work , however I love it. I have experience in the marine industry, which helps, never the less I love hearing from other boat owners their experiences.

I've recently aquired a C&L 37, which is our first large power boat. So far, so good.

We're making the jump from sail to power, to the abhorrent shock of most of my sailing friends, and the delight of my non-sailing ones. Congratulations on your purchase.

I have not ran across many Sea Rangers but they seem to be stout and well made. Has anyone out there ran their 45+ in rough seas?

John, I'm very interested in your progress with your Sea Ranger. I am considering the purchase of a 45' PH Sea Ranger that has some problems per the survey. I, too, have professional experience in the industry and would benefit from hearing from you. Can we have an update?

I do suffer from a bit of claustrophobia, however I don't have a problem in our forward stateroom. Have you been aboard the boat listed on YW or judging from the pictures?
I'll be glad to elaborate and answer any questions I can. I love our boat and it is a 1981 raised pilothouse. Especially attractive to me is that we do not have a head aft. The steps leading from saloon to p.h. are outboard to starboard. This gives much more width to the galley.

@gregoryfloyd Thanks for reply,, yes i have been aboard and the headroom is even worse in person but i'm going back on Saturday and lay on the bed the other way put my feet in the hole,,,since they lowered the price i am trying to get past it,

When you go back aboard look at the construction of the bed. I have considered lowering ours by a bit to alleviate headroom issue and make entry/exit easier. It's doable on ours, even with a/c units below.

Went back today just after a hard rain, decks are leaking bad, that's a deal killer for me.fix my share of decks and I'm done with it, so the hunt continues

Funny the survey that a previous buyer had done shows nothing about moisture for the decks that's a costly surprise. so much for having a survey.

Sea Ranger 47

Not sure if anyone still using this thread. I recently purchased a Sea Ranger 47 and I am interested others options and advice.
I am in Queensland Australia using the boat as a live aboard.
Does anyone have Volvo engines in their Sea Ranger?
