I just replaced my vintage Maxwell V 1000 windlass with a Quick 1400 Watt. I also got the CHC 1102 handheld remote counter / operator for the bow only ( I did not get a fixed panel type remote )

I am wondering if the counter will keep in memory the amount of chain that's been paid out, esp. when one's on the hook for a day or two .... and with the windlass turned off. ( there is no mention of this anywhere in the docs. )

Thanks in advance. Frank B.

I had basically the same setup on a previous boat and it did keep the count.

That's a good question that I can't help with but you should point that out to the mfgr.

Often that kind of info is appreciated. If it's a question you had I'll bet others have had it.

I put the question out to the Canadian distributor, nothing back yet. Although Mr. No Mast says it will keep the count, it makes sense that it should. Tx.
