• Trawler Forum Classified Posting Guidelines
    • We expect ads placed to be related to the topic of this forum.
    • Ads that are inactive for 180 days or longer may be moved to the Classified Archive and locked. Ads may be relisted if the item is still current. Alternatively, owners may contact a Moderator to reinstate an archived ad.
    • The Classified section is for advertising, members are asked to refrain from posting discussions to a Classified Ad. Please start a discussion thread or PM the owner for discussions.
    • Do not hijack another member's ad by posting unsolicited commentary. Example: if a member has posted an ad offering an anchor for sale, don't add a post to his thread stating that you have an anchor you'd like to get rid of also. Posts deemed as unsolicited commentary may be removed.
    • For your own security, do NOT include your e-mail or phone number in your ad. Instead request that interested parties contact you via PM (private message) to provide owners contact info.
    • Brokers, Dealers, or those with a commercial interest in a sale are prohibited from posting in Classifieds.
    • Only Trawler Forum Commercial Members may post ads in the Commercial section. You must be a designated Commercial Member to start threads in this section of the forum. (Contact a moderator if you have questions about this)
    • Don't post links to commercial sites where you are also offering the boat, such as eBay, Craigslist or Yachtworld, etc. unless it contains a more in-depth description, additional information or pictures.
    • Place only one ad per item (you may repost only when your ad has expired and been removed).
    For Sale ads MUST include:
    • Asking price
    • Location
    • A Basic Description
    • Clear statement whether you are the owner or non-owner (posting for friend, relative, or acquaintance)
    • Don't forget to select: FOR SALE, WANTED or FREE in the Title block.
All ads should also include ALL the following:
    • Pertinent maintenance and condition information
    • Exterior picture or pictures
    • Interior picture or pictures (boats)
For maximum impact & exposure, it is suggested the Ad Title include: Year, Manufacturer, Model, Length, Price, and Location or at the very top of the ad body. When your item has sold or the ad is no longer relevant: Please post a Reply to the ad that the item is SOLD or click "Report Post" on post 1 of the thread to ask a moderator to archive the ad. Ads may be moved or removed by our staff at any time for any reason. All ads must comply with site rules. Thanks for your cooperation.
  • Avoid Scams.

Our classifieds are free and anyone registered here is welcome to post an ad.
Be aware that there are unscrupulous folks out there. Avoid any interaction that seems odd to you or feels wrong. Inquiries from unknown buyers, buyers agents and other non-traditional approaches should be treated with extreme caution.

Beware of unsolicited contacts offering to put you in touch with someone else who is buying or selling via e-mail or text.

Do not post your e-mail address or phone number in a classifieds ad.

Hints that you may be dealing with a Scammer:
    • Seller or Buyer approaches you via a direct email or PM and then steers you to an off-site communication method (text or email).
    • No posts or very few forum posts.
    • Recent forum membership
    • Insists on conducting negotiations via email or text rather than PM
    • Requires payment via Bank Transfer, BitCoin/CryptoCurrency, WesternUnion or other unsecured method.
    • Buyer or Seller suggests Paypal "Friends and Family" payment. Paypal is a good way to arrange payment but an invoice for goods and services should be used rather than "Friends and Family". "Friends and Family" avoids fees BUT there is no recourse if the transaction runs aground. Friends and Family is for gifts only. There is no protection for Friends and Family transactions, so never ever use it to buy something.
    • Declines to allow viewing the item before proceeding with the transaction.

Price - $33,000

34 Mainship II Trawler. If you are looking for a boat to do the loop or a weekender that you can afford to run, this is your boat. She has a 160 hp turbo Perkins diesel (2,207 hrs) and will only burn 2gph at 8knts (which is how I run her) with a top speed closer to 14knts. That is a range of 800+ miles on 220 gallons of fuel. She is built to travel as you will see from the list of upgrades.

Tons of pictures are available on photobucket (see link below). This is a well loved vessel that I've owned for the past 9 years. The prior owner had her for about 10 years and brought her down from the Great Lakes area. We both kept her under cover and in fresh water.

It hurts me to list her, but with a growing family we have less time to cruise and need more space, so we've purchased a larger boat. I've looked at a lot of boats lately and I'm appreciating more and more that age is a number and the true value of a boat is in the way it's been maintained.

Besides standard preventative maintenance, the following is a partial list of items that have been replaced/added/upgraded over the past three years:

2014

Bottom painted June 2014 (anti-fouling paint used)
Grey hull strip repainted
Custom cockpit cover sanded and repainted
Outdoor speakers installed on cockpit - wired to bluetooth radio on flybridge

2013

Couch, chair, and curtains all recovered/replaced
New flat screen TV in salon
New (rebuilt) Charles 30 Amp Charger
Teak swim platform refinished

2012

New refrigerator
New 8d starter and house batteries
New 1000 watt inverter (runs refrigerator off battery)
Most fuel lines replaced

Some other goodies that you won't find on most boats:

Hydraulic steering
Autopilot at both stations (remote that allows immediate course corrections)
Stern thruster with controls at both stations (great for handling a singe engine in tight spaces)
Twin Racor fuel filter station (allows the changing of fuel filters while underway)
Radar
GPS (older hummingbird model)
Heat exchanger hot water tank (uses engine to heat water while underway)
Plumbing for small washing machine on cockpit
Davits for dinghy (dinghy not included)
Anchor Windless
Built in Halon System (fire suppressor)
Remote controlled spotlight
Two washdown pumps

Other items

Two Marine Air units, but salon unit currently needs to be charged. Forward air is sufficient, so this hasn't been attended to yet. She sleeps 4, two in the V-berth and 2 on the fold out couch. Generator (Next Generation installed in 2002 with 287hrs) is a 3.5kw that has been moved to the cockpit and sits under the custom built bench. This change provides additional seating and tons of storage in the hold below the cockpit. There is a separate starting battery with its own charger for the generator.

We are only selling in order to upgrade to a larger boat. She is located on the Mississippi River in Downtown Memphis at Harbortown Marina. We moved her to Memphis from Pebble Isle Marina on the Tennessee River a few years ago and it was a great trip! Please contact me by email at chris.lynn@maac.com with any questions or to schedule a viewing.

Thanks!

Chris

Why would you want a larger boat on a river?

Why would you want a larger boat on a river?

Our boating patterns have changed. We spend a lot of time on the boat, but now we don't necessarily go anywhere, at least not too far.

With kids and how we use our boat, the priority has shifted from efficient operation to interior space. The fact that it's on a river really isn't a factor.

That looks like a nice well kept boat! Good luck to ya!

Thanks for the well wishes. I'm talking to a broker next week, so I'd love to get some movement on it before that happens.

Bump...It's perfect cruising weather here and she is ready to go. 2 or 3 days up the Mississippi and you will be on the Ohio River and headed for TN on the loop.

Hello I am new to the forum, is your boat still available. I tried sending a private email but it was not allowed. Said i must build trust. If boat is still available, please email me at jdawghester@gmail.com. My wife and I are looking for a loop boat. Thanks Jeff

Hope it works out for both of you. These are nice boats with all the "surprises" well documented and for the most part, easily repairable. Solid loop boat for two. Good luck JDAWG, keep us posted.

Thanks sof, this looks like a good one, in the right place. We are land locked in Atlanta.

Jeff,

Resend the Private Message with the word "at" instead of the @ sign. The software sees your email address as a trigger for the auto-rejection. After 10 posts, you should be fine.

Jdawg

I appreciate your interest, but she is off to a new home. I'll second what others have said about these being great traveling boats. I think the market undervalues these, especially with some of the dogs out there that drag down the truly nice examples. Good luck with your hunt and please let me know if you have any questions about this model as you find others to look at.

Chris
