thought I would share these boats I came across on a trip I did from Newport RI to Bar Harbour Maine. the detail and finish is superb.

Very nice boats! Glad someone else has to maintain all that exterior wood. Still fun to look at.

1960's Memories! Bach when... I was expert at doing pretty-wood gloss finish varnish routine.

I say routine, because that is what it was! Every year or two most exterior "bright work" got sanded and retouched-up with new coat(s). Every so often it got stripped to bare wood and lightly bleached with new multi coat varnish process to soon follow... some times up to ten (10) coats with a light sanding between each. Mirror finish with Valspar or equivalent was the goal (i.e. mandate from many boat owners).
