Good point.* Some do and some don't I guess.* The Lofrans Tigres does have a manual mode that can be used if the electric drive fails. It uses a long handle that comes with the windlass and (I am told) is very slow.* But it would still beat hauling the chain and anchor up by hand unless you were in a big hurry.SeaHorse II wrote:I apologize if I'm not understanding the problem but don't most electric windlasses have a mechanical set up where you can crank them by hand?
