Thanks for that, Mr. RT! I calculated what I think is the average for most major boat jobs: Urgency =9, Importance =9, Complexity =9, Skill =3, Frequency =2; and the result is: 82% chance we screw it up. And that is for professional boat mechanics, think what it would be for us!

Mr. THD. 82% screw up for PROFESSIONALS? Hey, they're the ones I've been getting to work on MY boat lately. Haven't seen a good mechanic since I had work done at the Hinkley yard in Thunderbolt, GA. Bob is/was (many years ago now) a GREAT mechanic.
 
One factor that should be in there for boaters but is not--the factor that takes into account the number of people watching when you're trying to accomplish a docking maneuver.


The larger the crowd the more influence Mr. Murphy has on the end result.
