Had a little "structural" damage when it fell off the blocks. ?

If it's the boat I think it is, it's been sitting in that yard for years. And it looked in very rough condition.

Yep me too, right across from marina bay. Right under 95.

Sounds like maybe this is a project that has gotten away from the owner and he has just throw his hands up and said enough. Just speculation of course.

But if a knowledgeable person could buy it and spend 50 to 75,000 finishing it, he would have a nice 46 for a good price.

If I had a snow cone's chance in hell of being able to afford the refit this boat deserves, I'd snap this up in a heartbeat. The N46 is my childhood hero. I hope she finds a good home.

And also a really neat project, which would most likely take the rest of his life. But better than sitting around watching reality TV and growing old I would think.

Bill: You're a seasoned Captain now. You've already made the Ft. Lauderdale to Rockport run and know what it takes. Go get this thing. She's your destiny. :thumb:

Bill, just think....you would never have to run the ICW again!!

True!

I can't handle a big project at this point in my boating career however, and I already have a boat that I would have to sell, so it's not gonna happen.

Are you still a two-boat owner?

If you hire the work out this thing could get away from you in a hurry and take on a life of its own. Whoever does buy it had better either be self motivated like Hendo or have a good multitalented guy like Ted has on the payroll.

No sir, sold even before I had her entirely finished!

Wow! That's great! Congrats.

I wouldn't want to own two big boats. Can barely keep up with one.

I peaked at the pictures.
There is something about seeing that particular make and model in that condition that makes me a little seasick. Shame. Like Wafarer, I am moved by the 46 and 62 much more than the others. This one is a heartbreaker and not that old.

If I remember correctly this particular Nordhavn recently brought some attention on the Nordhavn Dreamers forum and from what I recall this Nordy has had some significant damage (repaired) due to being dropped from its supports while on the hard. The guesstimate was that it would take around $250k to get it back into shape. In the end not such a cheap Nordy after all.

I think that is the first Norhavn I have ever seen that was not in pretty much tip-top shape. Even though it is an '89, hard to believe someone would let it get to that point. Going to cost someone a pretty penny to get it back to normal Nordhavn condition.

What the ad is not telling you is that the "some hull damage" the boat incurred when it fell, is that the port stabilizer fin was punched up into bottom of the boat.

Heck that boat looks in a lot better shape than what I bought. Rough from driving by doesn't say a whole lot...but I will trust the drive by gaze from a few here.

I can't really tell what it even needs from the pictures other than some exterior varnish.

If rust and peeling paint stopped a boat from going to sea....a lot more vessels would be tied to the dock.

A properly repaired hull should be as good as or better than new...if it was an inherent defect that she couldn't stand on her fins ...that would be a debate for all Nordies.
