Marine Trader Euro 36

Just purchased a gem of a 1984 Marine Trader 36 but it didn't have a windlass mounted.* The configuration of the pulpit and hawse pipe have me a bit confused as the pipe is so far offset.* I have purchased a Lewmar Pro Fish 1000 and it appears that I will have to put in a new centered hawse pipe.*

First guess is that the original windlass was of a type that required a person to feed the chain and line down the hawse pipe off of a gypsy type drum.

Am I missing something here?* Or, do I start cutting?

** Welcome kw but wrong technical help section.* A picture of your current set-up and the new windlass would go a long way for mounting suggestions before you cut.* Try reposting this in "Other trawler systems".
