I have a c80 Groco vane style pump to wash down my deck. For some unknown reason it stopped working and flips the breaker. When I try to reset the breaker it trips again. i had a boat electrician look at it and he thinks the impeller is frozen and will need to be replaced.

My question is: is it possible to rebuild one of these pumps? i check various sites and have been unable to find a rebuild kit. does anyone have any knowledge to share? Thank you!

They're pretty simple. If its the one I'm familiar with. Pull the front cover and unstick the rotor. The motor is replaceable if its bad.

If kulas44 idea doesn't work, call Groco. They are really nice folks.

Usually unsticking the vane is all that is needed.

If it has been pumping water a scrub with a Brillow pad on the inside would never hurt.

Most likely the impeller has debris in it. As stated above, remove front cover and ensure that there is nothing obstructing the impeller. If something is hanging it up, I would check the strainer on the suction end.
