SSB/Ham Antenna on American Tug 34

I am buying an American Tug 34 and want to install a ham radio. What have other AT owners or Nordic Tug owners used for an Antenna?

I am a licensed ham. On my sailboat I made an antenna by removing the core from some double braid rope and replacing it with a piece of wire. I won't have the mast height to make the wire long enough to be resonant.

I am expecting to have to use a manufactured vertical antenna. However, the AT 34 is not that tall so a 23' antenna will more than double air draft of the boat and won't provide any support for the top of the antenna.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

We use one of these. It's a wing nut to lower the antenna. Our distance is 33" between the swivel base and the stand-off. You could probably go a little shorter. We can lower lay the antenna back so our air clearance is minimal. I added the teak block so the antenna was perpendicular to the water.
