I have searched high and low for the oil type/weight for my gears. Twin Disc says that there is a lube data plate on the gear that specs the type and amount. There is not a lube plate only the CAT spec plate. It gives the gear type, Ratio, pressure and capacity but no oil specs. Original owner used 30wt CD grade oil. Since neither CAT or TD will give an answer does anyone have this gear? If so what oil do you use?

I use Cat TDTO as did prior owner. Manual calls for 30 weight. They run cool and work great. These are on 375 hp 3208TA engines.

One other question. I assume (gets me in trouble) that pulling the screen is just removing the bolt and then screwing it into itself and pulling it out? Or, does the bolt actually jack out the screen.

Once out I am thinking there will be o-rings to replace?

Bolt screws into plug. Pull straight out on bolt to slide the o ring sealed plug out to get at the screen. I think I just got that screen out with my finger? Been a while.
