I've had the boat a little while, and haven't seen but one or two others out there. Anybody know the story of these boats? I'm very happy with it as my first power boat. Wish I knew more.

Lutarius,
These are not necessarily hard facts, but I noted this a few years ago under our boat notes: Same as a 42' Heritage Trawler, reintroduced as a Symbol 42 Sundeck

We have a Present 42, built at the Chung Hwa yard. Look at a few on yacht world and you will see we share the same hull profile. Chances are- you have solid vessel with beautiful teak inside.

I looked at one of these years ago that was Hal Schell's former boat, Delta Dawdler II. It was being sold by his estate.

It had so many similarities with my buddy's 1986 42 Jefferson that we suspected they were built in the same Taiwanese boat yard.

I loved the layout and the cockpit. Great use of space.

BTW, was your boat formerly named Disconnected?

I like the fact that these boats tend to have larger diameter rails, and substantial cleats with stainless chafe guards as well as some other "big boat" traits. This maybe trickle down from the big boats that the company still produces.

I bought mine up in Olympia where all three previous owners had it in covered berth. Was previously called "live wire" and something else.. she's currently called "Yankee 3" until I get around to removing that from the transom, then she will be Re christened as "Titan Arum."

We have a 1989 Nova sun deck model. just purchased a month ago with the usual
maintenance issues and more.. replacing holding tank, port starboard shaft slipped the coupler etc.

One problem is that there were four plastic 7 inch by 13 3/4 inch plastic white louvered engine vents on the hull around amidships. now there is only one. i suspect that they were broken by fender pressure against dock or while rafting.
I cannot find a supplier for these after two hours of searching. Lots of little ones but no big vents. Plastic or SS ok..
Any ideas out there
