Hi Boaties.

Landlocked in Qld. and hoping to get back on the water like a lot of others. The user name represents where I was born in beautiful Manly Q. Now the provence of the wealthy boating fraternity.

It has been a long time since I spent my youth messing around on baoats in south east Qld. A boating paradise if you don`t know it. Moreton Bay was my playground while growing up.

Thank You for allowing me to join your forum, there is much that I can learn from your combined experience and knowledge.

Will get back on the water one day.

Regards.

David.

Re Landlocked Aussie

Welcome David from another at the GoldCoast, I have been shorebound too long also, Have Just signed on a Trawler in Florida to do the loop and Bahamas. This Forum has been very helpful to me, Colin

Hi Colin.

We share the same pain of not feeling the salt water in our faces. Where I currently live they would use an oar to prop up a fence post. lmao

Good Luck with your planned voyages.

David.

Yes, welcome aboard Manly Q, I am also in Queensland, with boat down at Horizon Shores. (She's for sale by the way, in case you're interested).

I had a Maxi Trailer Yacht, (Gazelle 26), on the hard for some years at the Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron, so very familiar with your early stamping grounds. As you say, a boating paradise...

Hi Pete.

We played in the mud while it was being pumped in to site the R.Q.Y.S. on or as we called it the Josh House because of its`shape. It is a very different place now.

An uncle and his son are the only people to have drowned in what is now the anly Harbour back in late 50s so yes I am well rooted to that place.

Thanks for the welcome.

Regards.

David.
