Best wishes from the Emerald Isle.

I always think of Maureen O'Hara and John Wayne in 'The Quiet Man', God bless them.

I'm sure Irishman Barack O'Bama (with the apostrophe) will be thinking of the old country. :whistling:

Anyhow, have a Great day!

When I was growing up St Patricks day marked the beginning of spring, the day to plant the potatoes in the garden.

...and today in Ireland it's a beautiful sunny spring day.:D

Please call it 'the wearing of the Green ' :D

It's a gorgeous colour for a vintage car or boat, but funnily enough they call it 'British racing green'

Apparently one year in the early 1900's the RAC car racing was banned in England, so they came to Ireland and painted their cars emerald green, but later changed it to BRG hence the name.

Of course everything was British back in those days! :whistling:

Oh nooooo......!

An Irish Blonde joke.

An attractive blonde from Cork, Ireland, arrived at the casino. She seemed a little intoxicated and bet twenty thousand dollars in a single roll of the dice.

She said, "I hope you don't mind, but I feel much luckier when I'm completely nude." With that, she stripped from the neck down, rolled the dice and with an Irish brogue yelled, "Come on, baby, Mama needs new clothes!"

As the dice came to a stop, she jumped up and down and squealed. "Yes! Yes! I won, I won!" She hugged each of the dealers, picked up her winnings and her clothes and quickly departed.

The dealers stared at each other dumbfounded.
Finally, one of them asked, "What did she roll?" The other answered, "I don't know - I thought you were watching."

MORAL OF THE STORY
Not all Irish are drunks, not all blondes are dumb, ..... but all men...are men!

I like it when St. Patty's Day and Spring Break happen in the same week....and me being off work. I happen to know a bunch of teachers that are just sitting around looking for something to do. So I will celebrate by taking some very grateful teachers out for a boat ride in search of green beer!!!! Y'all have a great day!!!!

From one Irishman to the rest of you....enjoy the drinkin' of the green beer! Hoist one and give a salute to St. Patty!

Schlante!

I hope that no 'green water' gets into your green beer.:D

The local parade has just passed by, consisting of a couple of trucks with Irish dancers, two fire engines, 5 agricultural tractors, two or three coaches and a police car with sirens flashing.

That's over then for another year.

Did you remember to boil the potatoes in their skins? when they are cooked, drain, and put a tea towel on top of them for 10 minutes which absorbs the steam.

This makes them lovely and floury; please excuse me for teaching my grandma.......! :D

For some reason I think the serious boaty people are starting to get irritated with this thread, but they don't realise it's impossible to make the Irish shut up!
