Very impressive boat (love Gardner engines) Why would the build a house over it, unless it leaks so bad they had to protect it???

Snow. We had 13 boats sink after getting 4 feet of snow in a day.

Edit: total was 5.5 feet in a day and a half

Sorry didn't really think of that - most of my boating was in south pacific.

Murray what is this "snow" you speak of?

If that amount of snow creates a weight problem it would be prudent to do one of two things:

1. Order and stock less snow
2. store it as low in the hull as possible to minimize weight issue

Was somebody else looking for snow in Miami?

The boat cover in post #2 is for rain mostly. That's how many boats "winter over" on SE Alaska. Or to paint and do repairs any time of the year. Very common.
Also livaboards gain some real estate and insulation.

No Mast-your second option has an additional advantage-when the snow melts your bilge pumps will clear it out!

TDH: an added bonus, sweet!

There's a 7 foot hedge under that long hump in the foreground, and that's the second story of our new addition in the background. The grass was green before this all got dumped in less than two days

Seasons are awesome!!!!!!!!

You gain a deeper appreciation of springs warmth after winter, and winters purity after summer and fall :)

Today I saw a bumblebee, heard a red winged blackbird, and saw eagles getting a free ride on thermals.

Look at the hull type on the spec list. It is a "semi-display" home.
