Electrical Diagram for GB 42?

I have a 1986 GB 42. Can anyone tell me where I can get an electrical diagram for this boat? I don't see one on the GB Owners website. I have a 8.5 KW Phasor Generator and I'm considering adding an electric driven scuba compressor. An electrical schematic would be very helpful to have. Probably have to run a new line from supply bus but I'd like to know the capacity of the line that runs to master stateroom closet.

What size are the wires going to the closet?

I doubt they are big enough to handle the load of a compressor. That said, what is the recommended size of the breaker for the compressor?

GB Wire diagram

Will need to check wire size/capacity of cable to the closet.

I'm looking at a 3 HP (2.2 KW) high pressure air compressor to fit in lazarette. I'd guess breaker would be around 2.5-3 kw.

120v or 240v?

If it's 120v you're going to need a 35-40 amp breaker I'm guessing. I seriously doubt the existing wiring will handle that.

About 25 amp 120VAC single phase; 15 amp 240VAC split phase. Good luck, get some help.

Actually I may have underestimated the size of the breaker you may need.

There are owner manuals for four GB42s in the Manuals section of the GB owners website Grand Banks Owner's Resources. They are for GB42-488, GB42-682, GB42-966, and GB42-1461. Like all GB owner manuals, they should all have AC and DC electrical schematics in them. The only one I looked at to make sure the manual is like ours from 1973 and has the schematics is GB42-966, but I assume the others have the same thing.

The PO of my Albin taught SCUBA IN the Bahamas every year.

He had an o board compressor and ran a separate 30 Amp circuit to a plug he left under the step to go outside. I use that circuit now to run 2 space heaters.

Can't say what size compressor...but I would do the same and run a separate circuit because I doubt any existing circuit you have would handle it....

Sorry I can't help with a diagram but a peek behind your AC panel at breaker size should give you a hint.
