Intriguing…bit of a problem though, if, as you say, one could not climb back on and get going again if you fell off halfway to shore.

According to what I just read if you stop moving you sink. Better hope it is not further to shore than you thought. Also, seems that as Scary said they have to be started from a dock or some high point so you can jump on.
