we hauled her out and had the bottom blasted. I put on 2 coats of tuffstuff and 2 coats of sea hawk tropicote biocide plus hard paint. i did a bunch of awl grip work new boot stripe and underwater lights as well. used prop speed for the running gear. she floats over an inch higher and almost doubled our speed!

Very nice!! Were those UW? Lights SeaBlaze X's? Were going be putting some UW lots next haul out, and were looking at those.

I recommend you look at Ocean LED underwater lights. Their office is in LMC.

We did, we've looked at their new series that color changes. But not many reviews out on them yet.

We were thinking of Lumitec or Macris Industries.

yes the lights are the the lumitec sea blaze x's they are awesome I have an older pair of the sea blaze 3 white and blue lights. i can't say anything bad about both pairs and the price was right where I wanted to be. The nice thing about the lumitecs is that this model is surface mount not a huge hole infact i put prop speed top coat on the lens we will see how it works

She looks great. I have used prop speed in the past, on a twin engine sportfisherman, it worked well. Is it your feeling that entire bottom job had a positive impact on the performance.? What was your old cruse and your new.

I have never thought about the use of prop speed on the trawler, but now that I see your pictures, I remember the success I had with the product. Thanks for the tip, good one.

I have heard those underwater lights really attract the kraken.

They work like afterburners.

I have to agree Electric Blue UW lights have a similar effect as adding a Turbo to the boat.

Just be careful the extra HP gleaned from the UW lights/turbo effect doesn't push you over the 4HP/ton limit, as you may lose your "trawler" status.

They help you approach "light" speed.
Actually UW high powered LED lights really make a vessel shine in the night in anything other than brackish water. I have used 2 sets from Britter Innovations on my old Mainship. They had problems with the initial release. I had 3 of 4 fail within the 1st season. I called the manufactures rep and they acknowledged the problems and they sent me 6 of the latest revision of their lights. It's been 4 seasons now with -0- problems and the 2 spares are now going on my Gulfstar.

SiTex has a new model that uses a Radome and it will work with the I-Pad, IPhone or AOS platforms in addition to it's own display. It's a lower end Radar that looks promising.

the underwater lights had no effect on the SOG but the farrow blasting of the 30 years of bottom paint off the bottom did help. the underwater lights are for attracting mermaids, Kracken and other mystical sea creatures

old cruise was 5-7kts
new cruise is 8-10kts

re: Propspeed.

We uw\ed Propspeed on Straycat, and got three seasons out of it. We will use it again when we haul this fall.

what speed do you get now? We seem caught at 6 knots. with a 4-154 and an 18 square four blade, it seems we are a few 1/10ths of a knot slow.

8-10 knot cruise...... at the 10 knot end of this range are the hydrofoils fully extended and the Pratt & Whitney F100 on burner?

I found I get the same speed.... when going fair current through Woods Hole on a Moon tide. Other than that, I'm happy with the 6 I get plodding along. It does make for a LONG poke through though fighting 4.5 knots of current when bucking though.

PS, I don't have the PW F100. I have a PWR-2 reactor in my fine little craft. Hardly notice the slight glow in the wake. But, as an added bonus, I don't need the underwater lights.
