I looked this up on google earth and it looks like there are several light houses marking the entrance. Then when you get in close to Castlebere there are channel markers guiding you in behind Dinish island.

This is too much! Go Richard / Dauntless!!! LEGENDARY! I'm ready to actually share the elation!

Almost there...........

O my gosh, he should be in calmer water. Yeh! 7.4 knots and cruising.... to a real destination!

1 am their time, won't be much of a welcoming committee but I don't think Richard will care. Got to feel sooooooo good!

It will be interesting when he tells all of us how much fuel he has left.
Sure am glad he has made port safely!

Perhaps not... According to his first post, he's a month early! :D

"I’ll pretty much have the InReach on until I get to winter quarters, probably in Ireland, probably at the end of September."

Nine pm US east coast, 2 am for Richard. Looks like he is in sheltered waters now. I guess he could anchor now and wait for light to go into the inner harbor.

Looks like he has slowed in a mooring field?

Hip Hip Hurrah!!

This is better than New Year's Eve. Richard, I raise my glass to you. Congratulations!!!!

Looks like on by the sea wall on Delorme. Anybody texting him or heard anything???

Appears so...

I just heard a whooshing sound... That that our collective cheer as he dropped anchor?

Looks like Dauntless has anchored, or picked up a ball.
Richard, Well done!

I tried texting him and got an error, it wouldn't go through??

71 well-wishers viewing this thread! Nice he landed in prime time!

I wonder if any of the local restaurants would deliver a container of Mayo. Or maybe a good delicious tuna fish sandwich....

 I think the LAST thing Richard wants is a tuna sandwich!:rofl::rofl:

Pie, PIE, is what Richard wants! :D:D:D

The local restaurant is a very good idea. :thumb:

Later,
Dan

Either way, he's safe! What a ride. This is astounding. What a Seaman. What a ship!!
