Yes, indeed a pretty trawler…and Craig…maybe you just then put your finger on the one feature which maybe typifies more than anything else as to what is a trawler and no-one has mentioned yet…the sheer line..!

Yes Peter the sheer is great. And the yellow goes very well w the blue boot stripe.
Also having very handsome vertical wheelhouse windows adds to the charm and timeless classical looks. No fads or vogue stuff here. Just basically good design.

Don Puska, as Albion Boatworks in Maple Ridge, built very few trollers, perhaps only one. But they built dozens of Gillnetters, which at 34' I would say this boat was. Many of the Albion boats were built for Cassiar, the cannery in the mouth of the Skeena, and were originally named Cassiar 34 or some such, thus the switch to the silly moniker.....

There was certainly a great deal of cross-pollination in the early glass years. Puska was one of the first to go all glass, his boats were quite simple and straightforward. The Palmer boats were fancier and bit more yachty, but he may have worked with or for Puska.
