BTW that was only about half serious.
A large proportion of "older people" are living on Social Security. That's quite a bit less than most working people earn. When I retired, my "earned" income dropped 45%. With the kids out of college and the home mortgage paid off, I've been able to maintain my standard of living, at least so far. I've saved perhaps $50 a year from senior discounts.
