Ocean Alexander question...

A slip hugger on my dock just went on the market: a 2005 Ocean Alexander Classico Sedan. The owner purchased the boat as a demo in 2006, and it has never left the dock except to be towed to a yard for a bottom job. I know the hull is an Ed Monk design, but is it a planing hull or a semi-displacement hull?

Indeed a nice boat but holy crap! 1/2 million for a 10 year old boat? You can get a 46 Nordhaven for that price.

Primary Difference Between Two (2) Hull Designs (no matter actual shape or form):

1. Displacement, and;

2. Planing (or the marketing terms sometimes used "Semi-Displacement / Semi-Planing")

# 1 Moves ONLY at displacement speed TOPS, no matter the horse power - It Can Not Attain Plane - Period!

# 2 Moves at displacement speed or can be brought up onto a plane and continue to increase its speed with more horse power.

Displacement is Displacement. Planing is Planing! Semi this, Semi that... is sales jargon! It either can plane or it can't!! :facepalm:
