A Fellow Trawler??

Easy to see the problem-the anchor did not set! They should have had a [pick your favorite] instead.

Well, there's a little boat doing the dance thru the anchorage this afternoon. Betcha it's using a small cheap knock-off Danforth, and with changing tides, well, that doesn't work well. The couple is aboard so when they look up and realize they'll fix it.

The boat arrived yesterday and I'm guessing an anchor watch isn't a priority. Yet.

He's just Careening. No biggie.

My bet is that the captain just wanted to try out his new boarding ladder. Looks like it is a good one too!

That babies bottom looks the same as mine. Flat and wide...

Well, according to some, the photo indicates it is (was until it caught fire and beached in 1987) a semi-planing hull. Probably need to look at its buttocks to be sure though.

I think he miss calculated the tide times.

The dance is over and the boat has managed to go thru the anchorage and not hit anything. Nor did it ground on the sandbars. It did stop (rather abruptly) by the fishing boat that caught on fire a few weeks ago and is now tied to that dock.

And yes, the guy was aboard. I kept watching him pop up and look around but I'm not certain what was going on in his mind. For a little bit I think he had his engine running but then it conked out.

Poor guy. But on the other hand, he did land on a dock, did not appear to damage his boat and seems secure now. I've worried about him dragging into me.

No anchor light (after the first night) so watching for him is problematic.
Oh, and I did fix my anchor light (primary -- I have two mounted and one portable) so that's good. As I suspected, it was a switch. Fixed now.

Life's good. And if the winds cooperate tomorrow I'll be at the dock for my engine swap out. Today was 25+ mph winds most of the afternoon. Whitecaps everywhere and still foam is in evidence. Definitely not a day to move the boat...

HVD (High Voltage Disconnect) for the solar panels, so happy batteries.
