A little rough out there?

The friendliest place on the web for anyone who enjoys boating.

It's scenes like that one that made me very happy to work behind a desk.

It doesn't actually look all that scary in the video, which may be a function of me not knowing any better.

Still, I noticed that for the most part it wasn't shipping any water that I could see in the window, nor did it seem to be pounding through the waves. I reckon a 200 foot length and 1,500 tonne weight helps a bit...

Wave height/sea conditions don't translate to film or pictures very well at all. I know from experience that it is much more "realistic" being there.
One thing I do know about the crew of this fishing vessel, they are questioning their choice of occupation and sanity.....

As to the first video, it reflects our area of Clarence Straits at 30 plus knots Southeast, between Ship Island and Camano Point or Street Island to Camano. You can anticipate and pray in our small 30 foot class craft, that you slip by. Chances are very good that you will share this experience one out of six voyages.
Always an exciting anticipation for sure.
