Any chance you would make a side trip to New Bern this time? Or are you in a "hurry" again?

I think his destination is haul out at Deltaville for a few months. He said a few posts ago.

Oh... whoops. So many boats underway --- I get them confused.

Hi Tom,
Ben is right. Going to put some lipstick on the old girl this winter:blush:

Back from lunch. Apologies for the stalk... but cool PTZ cam at Solomons. Live. Wow.

Driving on the left...

Driving to port:dance:

When you round Drum Point your in 50' of water 30' from the beach. A very hard thing to get used to in the Chesapeake.

Ahh come on Daddyo! All these Solomons boats and no picture of my boat. You missed us, we are at the first dock (A) at Zanhiesers. There is an awesome 1940s trawler conversion called Angelena just two slips down. She is maintained in bristol condition.

I'll try and get a shot tomorrow am.

Grace sighting

I caught Grace hanging out in my "hood" today. Poor picture, I hope the drizzle stops and the sun comes out for you.

OK, I am ignorant so I looked it up.
When two power-driven vessels are
crossing so as to involve risk of collision,
the vessel which has the other on her
own starboard side shall keep out of
the way and shall, if the circumstances
of the case admit, avoid crossing ahead

of the other vessel.
Note the anchor chain:D

We are about 70 miles north of Deltaville, and we keep our boats in the water year round. We do, however, winterize systems from late Dec/early Jan through early March.

Ditto for me in Solomons. I would say 30% pull their boats.

Cool pic, thanks! We are anchored waiting out the winds.

Final day today. Sad to think I might not be underway again for 5-6 months!!

Looks like you have plenty of company along with you. AIS has several sailboats and trawler heading south near Point Lookout with you. Its always sloppy in the mouth of the Potomac with the wind like we have today. I have enjoyed your travels. I saw you leaving on the Chesapeake Biological Lab webcam this morning. I will have to find someone else to stalk now.

Yep, lots of us out here today. As feared the Potomac is not the place to be right now. I might have to break my rules and give her more than 1400rpm.

Last month I was there in 20 kt winds and 6 footers. My shallow keel 30,000 pound boat doesnt fair well in those conditions. I normally run at 1500 rpm and had to pound through at 2000 rpm. It was a long 2 hours back home. BTW that day they called for 2-3 ft seas...WRONG again.

Do you think this guy was anchored close enough? Keep in mind this was a huge almost empty anchorage. I do like Whalebacks and their incredible pilothouse.
