Greetings,
Here the dumb question of the day

I will moving on to my boat this spring. The couch I have now is adequate but am thinking will want to get a futon in the future. Is there a trick to getting a couch out (I was thinking a chain saw).
I have measured and cannot see how I can get it out the door and really do not want to remove a window.
Though some experienced liveaboards would have some advice

Many thanks
Bert

Many can be disassembled to pass through the doorways. Just getting the back separated from the seat can sometimes be enough.

Try a click clack couch...like a futon only better, storage underneath...folds flat like a futon to get through the door...

many choices in size, shape and material....

Unless it was built in situ, someone got it in there, there must be a way to get it out.
The chainsaw solution is a little extreme, but if you really don`t like it, or it has no future once removed.....

Beware of futons , they were designed to be rolled up every night , to allow the cotton to bend and expand back into shape.

Use one as a fixed couch and it will resemble a concrete cushion in a couple of weeks.

Springs and foam , webbing and feathers for your butt.

Flip the couch over and take it apart.
