Got an e-mail from a distributor touting "TotalBoat (one word)Marine Wood Finish." No sanding between coats, long lasting, etc. Anybody try this stuff?
I tried this product a few months ago on my caprail and was able to apply 2-3 coats per day without sanding between coats. In 3 days, I had 7 coats applied. It looks every bit as good as my original Epifanes varnish and it can be applied over the gloss varnish, so no need to take it down to bare wood to start over with a new, non-compatible product.
I'm not sure the same is true with the TotalBoat product as I have no experience with that. I'm a happy and loyal Epifanes customer.
All my exterior wood is teak and have been using Epifanes Rapidcoat for years. Not all that glossy but does seem to last longer, and no sanding between coats.
