Looking for a 40-43' Trawler but don't really want a trunk style . Prefer 135 Single diesel or smaller. Great loop ready would be nice . 1980-1995. Anyone have any suggestions?

Be aware that there are unscrupulous folks out there. Avoid any interaction that seems odd to you or �feels� wrong. Inquiries from unknown buyers, buyers �agents� and other non-traditional approaches should be treated with extreme caution.

That's a trunk style (classic) is it not which is what the OP says he does not want?? I'm not big on that style either although they do have a lot of room. Just personal taste.

Price would play a factor on location of boat , we would just have to work with location if we find THE BOAT. House sold ready to buy.

What do you mean by trunk style..? I have not seen that term used on here before. There are pilot house, aft or tri-cabins, and then sedan or Europa styles, but I'm not sure which you mean.

Just a suggestion here: Why don't pay a broker $5000 up front as a retainer to find you a boat. I can imagine you have probably run some brokers ragged being as particular as you are about the boat you want and they don't want to deal with you anymore. Go ahead and pay one upfront and stick with one guy and I believe you will be much more successful. Just my opinion! Good luck!

Not a term usually used but from the paradise yacht sales website trunk style (classic) is:
[FONT=Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif]Trunk styles are considered to be the classic, double cabin trawler. They have wide walk-around decks and access to the salon from both side doors. It sits low to the water making boarding easy. The fly bridge is normally 3 steps up from the trunk deck and has ample sitting area for guests. The traditional mast with boom holds a sail to prevent rolling in heavy seas. The boom can also be used to launch the dingy. The interior provides an aft stateroom and private head. Two steps up is a large salon for entertaining. Forward is the galley, which may be up or down. A dinette is usually provided adjacent to the galley. Further forward is the guest quarters with another private head. I love the look of the trunk but it does not allow a place to be when the weather is bad other than indoors[/FONT]

It refers to the classic Tri-Cabin. A CHB Tri-Cabin is the perfect example of a Trunk style or 'classic' Trawler.
In New England, the term "Trunk Cabin", as nomenclature for a boat style, during 50's - 60's:
Flush deck hull with cock pit, salon, and foreword trunk cabin's side windows popping up through the flush walking deck at gunnels to reach a forward flush deck surrounded by bow rail with front of trunk cabin usually having portholes or small rectangle windows.
As I recall: In early 60's at Madison Square Garden, NY, NY boat shows... Chris Craft sales persons referred to their (then brand new design) FRP 38' Chris Craft Commander twin screw boats as "Family Convertible with Trunk Cabin".

The term "Trunk cabin or Trunk style" is quite popular down here on the gulf. Example: A Grand Banks Classic is a trunk cabin boat while a GB Europa doesn't have the trunk cabin aft since it is basically a sedan styled boat with flybridge overhangs. It's the cabin area which is raised above the deck level and you walk around it.
