A doorbell?
Seriously, at first it looked like a relay or solenoid, but those have low current control wiring to control the high current through large cables. My guess is that it's an 80A fuse. Can you release it? If so, does the windlass or thruster still operate?

I don't see a reset, but maybe a circuit breaker?

Looks like a large fuse. Not a great location to change it.

I would also recommend putting a protective shield over the connections.

Depending on where it is in the circuit it could be a good anti theft device.
Pull it and perhaps reverse it in its housing and no juice would flow???
