Works just fine, with a carbon filter in house plumbing line. Only fill with municipal water.
 
Scotte- the product Keith is asking about treats the raw water found to the AC unit/s. it is installed before the sea strainer and reduces marine growth in you strainer and coils (it says)!!
 
I recall something remarkably similar marketed for land based chiller make up water many years back. Over complicated and introduced failure points to what is an otherwise bulletproof and simple operation. May have found its niche in marine systems for all I know.
