Really depends what you want. Cocoa Beach is on the ocean, has one very small marina, that is located right off A1A, however, it is not much of a facility.
The best Marina in Tistville is the Municipal with good anchorage. Not much for walking area, although it is an interesting area. If you stay there get a ride to Dixie Crossroads, great eatery.
Further up the ICW is Cocoa, different city then Cocoa Beach. Modern facility at the 520 causeway, walking distant to wonderful downtown section, restaurants, shopping. If you stay there, stop at Travers Hardware and go back in time. You name it, they got it.
Finally, go up the Barge canal toward the Port of Canaveral. You cross the Banana River and go through the Canaveral locks. The port is a busy port, lots of freight, cruise ships and fishing, sport and commercial. There are excellent eateries with good sea food fresh off the boats. The marinas are near the West end and offer good facilities. About two thirds of the way down the barge canal is a great marinas, Harbor town. Well protected, modern, good fuel prices, full service including a good eatery.
