Don't forget to consult your "book" for proper op temps as internet musings can be erroneous dependent upon year and engine mfr. On an idle comment basis, there are some engines that have more than one thermostat. A point to be remembered too is oil temperature best be in the 175- 180 F (or higher) range to keep the oil from becoming fuel (aka volatiles) and water contaminated.
