Mark, with that good tide push it's showing you at 9.5 knots. Looks like a horse headed for the barn.:thumb:

Hope it clears up through Boston Harbor.

EDIT: 11.6 knots. Fasten seat belts!

Much faster and you will have that Defever up on plane!

From the 07:24 forecast discussion.

Basically, stratiform rain yesterday is giving way to showers and maybe some thunderstorms this afternoon and evening in western Mass and RI.

Looking at aerial photo Boothbay Harbor looks like Solomon's on steroids. Nice place.

Daddyo,
Looks like you are heading in. I would highly recommend Scituate as very easy in/out and well protected morning field.

I'm a little north in Newburyport.

Thanks Donny,
Looks like a few day detour to Beantown. Winds look ferocious for the next few days. I have a sister in Brookline so it's family and the city for a few days then Maine looking like this weekend. Need to do that in two legs as I can't run the pots in the dark, any ideas?

I would say Boston up to Newburyport, Isles of Shoals, or Portsmouth on day 1. Head to Gloucester and go through the Annisquam River (very cool experience and saves a bit of time from going around Cape Ann), then to either of the three destinations above. Newburyport is a great city and waterfront, though you will want a dock or mooring due to the current. Isles of Shoals is great, but moorings are first-come/first-serve and a member of the Portsmouth Yacht Club could ask you to leave if all are full. Holding is poor. Perkins Cove in the entrance to Portsmouth has plenty of moorings and I think good holding too. I may end up in any of these three places over the weekend. Should be a 6-8hr day from Boston. The next good stop is really Kennybunkport, which is another ~3 hrs.

Day 2 would be ~8-10hr run up to Booth Bay.

Good info. We did Plymouth to Perkins Cove last year then found out we were too big for Perkins. It was dead calm and we anchored outside. Did the same in Kennybunkport. Anchored very near Bush's place. But again it was dead calm which I don't think will be the case this go round.

For the future, can cages be done for twins?

What kind of boat is that under? It looks like the underside of my Marine Trader. But with a cage.

That's one hell of a question! No keel to attach to, long prop shafts, only the bottom of the boat to attach the cage to, etc. I think the only person that I know who could pull that off is healhustler.

Sure why not? But, cutters or bunches of them and an awesome wetsuit would be a lot cheaper and not create drag. My ulimate plan has always been to re-power her as a single as Art had allowed for in his design.

The Solomon's is really no comparison. Maine is such a special place especially in this age of noise and mass production cookie cutter dribble. Come on up and see for yourself. I'm opening a new brokerage in Boothbay! Free boat ride with every purchase plus a lobster and a bibb:thumb:

I see you got the east coast covered. I'm gonna make a run up the middle. Heading out to cross the the gulf. Wish Clearwater wasn't so cheap I could use some lights out here. Like you I'm crewless again

I think you are visible on the Sea Tow Cam. Big view. Very cool.

Sounds like a plan! "Now bring me that horizon"! Have fun and do what your comfortable with.

Is that cat boat a jet drive? They have them here for the Catalina Express and they are a huge jet drive.

Stalker:dance: That's really cool! Do you have a link?

Sure I'm stalking! I'm in an office doing metrics write-ups on supply chain - zzzzzz. I wish you would stop doing these distracting fun things! You and Tom.B who is in Ocracoke this week.

Anyway I'm not at my desk now, but it was SeaTow Boston from their website. Camera moves and zooms - very slick.

I do believe they are. Very little wake when these things rip by you 30-40knts

My son used to drive a couple of those out of Boston during the summers while at, and just after graduating from, the small vessel operations program at Maine Maritime Academy.

That's when he learned that yuppie kayakers blundering about in the ship channel were referred to by the crews of these boats as "speed bumps".

No I'm not getting soft. They gave me a slip in downtown Boston for the price of a mooring just out of respect.:socool: Full blown nor'easter coming tomorrow and Fri.
