Agree that sails really help with rolling stability. I guesstimate that on our sailboat we also have the sails up about 75% of the time that we are actually motoring. Depending on winds, they also give us an extra knot or two. Still getting used to the way our trawler rolls - that is the one thing I miss about the sailboat. Actually it is the second thing - the other is when we hit the fuel dock. b
