Hey I'm a pup of 51 and secondly that skateboard must have been defective Not to mention it's this guy's fault I lazied around till 3:00

That's a Stevens. Good eye, very close but the Stevens tend to be beamier. I love the old classic Bergers! What we call Audrey Hepburn boats.

I'm anchored in Enterpise Oxbow. Stayed here two years ago. Last anchorage north before Myrtle. Beautiful place and my neighbor hear agrees.

90 miles puts you right at Wrightsville Beach tomorrow night

80 miles the next to Morehead City... 95 to the top of Adams Creek

I'll probably go overnight for the Pamlico at that point. Thanks for doing the math. I must say I don't care to anchor at Wrightsville.

Dunno if you have done the math yet, but you are looking at a flooding tide between 12n and 6p. With a 20k+ north blow, the Cape Fear could be a REAL mess this afternoon!

So, if I were a betting man, I'd look for an overnight around Masonboro Inlet, then check the winds for the off-coast run to Beaufort inlet.

But, though winds subside Tuesday, they are still 15+ in the morning. In a beefy DeFever with twins, I'd do it if it looked for certain the winds lay down.

Bess has a lot of pics she can show you. In fact, she posted a lot here. IIRC, they are in a thread that was pics of our trip from Carolina Beach to Georgetown, SC. It's ominous for sure, but keep it in the middle and you're fine. We first went thru at high tide and didn't see anything, however, when we returned, it was low and you can see the rocks. TBH, I would always want to go thru at low so I can keep an eye on it should we need to pass or be passed thru there.

Just did the math again. Looks like he'll be at Southport at or around slack tide. Still, 25k blow from the north could make it a rough trip.

Until he makes that left turn after Southport, Mark might have some beam seas to contend with. Better put the breakables on the deck. From then on, favorable currents, I would imagine. If a bit rocky...

Sneads Ferry - about MM 245

Just off the ICW past Snead's Ferry. It's a fantastic little anchorage.

Just north of the intersection of the New River and ICW at Camp Legeune. Good anchorage. The Marine Corps sometimes has activities going on there. By the way that ICW intersection is very subject to shoaling. Take it slowly across there. The markers can be confusing. The north side of the intersection usually shoals the worst.

I'ts a shame you were right that at Little River Inlet and couldn't go out!

Mile Hammock Bay

Hey Mark -

If your leg is really bothering you today, you might want to hole up at Southport. The Cape Fear is going to be nasty when the tide starts coming in. It's going to be nasty anyway with the regular current and the N wind. Add in the opposing tide and well....yuck. Rest a little and get some good food.

There's an anchorage at N33.55.45.85-ish/W078.03.27.06-ish. Just your side of Southport. We haven't tried it but heard it's a good spot. There's a Swedish vessel in there now.

But then again, the stateportpilot web cam doesnt look tooo nasty.
