Willard's grandson is a friend of mine that I worked with for several years. Willard is his first name and Buchanan the last. His grandson, Mike, used to tell me stories about Willard and I just remember that he always loved building boats and made several in his yard while Mike was growing up.

I saw the Willard postings here and just wanted to drop a note.

Cheers!

Thanks Capthead,
There's going to be a gathering of Willards (25+) boats strong in Anacotes Wa May 3-5. Perhaps if you're in the area? Twenty five Willards in one place is not often seen. Thinking of it makes me wonder if it's ever happened before. No more Willard pleasure boats are being built and I know of several that have died in my Willard days so it's possible this won't happen again.

However since Willard is very busy building boats that are funded by public money the sequester may bring Willard back to the pleasure boat business.

No No Walt not oil.

One got smashed in Katrina, one burned up, one sank and I can't remember others and how they died.

If ya use'em things happen. If ya leave'um sit they waste away.

Like people ........ they all eventually die.

So there's fewer and fewer each year.

It's hard to believe they could get destroyed because they are so damn tough.

This means yours are worth more. :thumb:
