Hi All,

Am now looking at a Californian 38 1983. Any things I should watch out for? The engines are 3208's.. any comments about them? I am leery of the geometry of the engine mounts, they are angle iron bolted to stringers.. any problems there?

Sounds like the engine mounts in my 1981 34 californian and mine are fine. I have the 200 hp Perkins. They look original in my boat.
 
Are we talking 38 Californian sundeck model or their trunk deck? I really like the 38 sundeck....awesome aft deck and HUGE staterooms. Love the engine room too...palatial for her size class!!!! Really nice boats.
