Being a gearhead for the last 30 years or so.... now I tend to drive our Chevy HHR panel the most (good mileage), with my 76 GMC 1 ton (468 big block, bad mileage) filling in as needed . I also rotate bikes in there occasionally.

I have a station wagon as I LOVE having room to haul crap around. I've had a pick up in the past but I like the passenger room and comfort of the wagon, plus the car like handling. It gets shitty gas mileage though because it is a 5 liter V8 with 300 hp.

Since the Nordic Tug is the slow diesel, we needed a fast diesel - a BMW 335d. Nothing like 425 pound-feet of torque at 1750 rpm, while still getting 40 mpg on the highway. We also have a Harley Night Train. And can't forget Carolena I, our Pearson 303 sailboat (also diesel), and, of course, the dinghy.

2004 Ranger pickup.

Some doofus t-boned and rolled my 1994 Ranger. With only 230k miles on the clock I figured she had another 10 years in her otherwise.

The wife's is a 2008 Accord. A red light runner destroyed her 1998 Civic or it would still be running.

I tend to drive 'em till they drop. At 10 years I consider them just broken in.

2004 GMC 2500 HD with a Duramax Diesel. Bought new and only 135K on it.

1988 Toyota Land Cruiser HJ-61 right hand drive JDM import.

I drive a 2013 Ford Focus titanium and my wife drives a 2012 Jeep Cherokee Summit.

2010 VW Jetta Diesel 71k gets 37 in the city and 44 on the highway, wife's driver, 2010 Mercedes Benz C300 32k gets 28.5 highway and 25.4 overall since new, my driver.

2011 Ford F250 diesel with 105,000 miles. I drive a lot!

Skoda Superb estate (2012). Love the space it offers.

A couple of days ago I went and checked out the Focus ST, 250 HP turbo 4 cylinder. I really like it, almost tempted to buy one...my wife brought me to my senses by reminding me I have 10 or more cars  too many bikes and a plethora of other "stuff" :socool:

I've got two of my Admiral's cars. A 2005 Hummer (12.7 MPG) and a new Wrangler "Artic". She picked both of them. I'm the 30 year old Mercedes Diesel Coupe type, or maybe a Landrover Defender, but I've had dozens of cars (sometimes a dozen at once) and it's better that I let her have her fling at it.

2002 Dodge Ram Quad cab pickup with 220 HP Cummins diesel 5 speed manual 2 wheel drive. 22 mpg around town; 24 +/- hiway. 326,000 miles.....still in the break in period. One of these days I'm going to pull the dip stick and see measurable oil use.

Daily is BMW 550xi. Who needs a Porsche when your daily is just as fast

Then a GMC diesel truck, '64 230SL Benz, '70 280SL, and a '71 Volvo 142E. It's kinda an odd collection, but fun none the less.

Slowboat 37, I want that 3.0 CS. One of those is next on my list. Always loved them.

And Skidgear, I used to have a '63 E-Type. Another real classic.

That 550 is one of the best 4 door sedans on the road today, IMO. My wife drives a 335i hardtop vert, a splendid car. Just bought mother in law a 2013 535i, I pushed hard for her to get the 550, to no avail.

.

If you don't already, you need to check out bringatrailer.com. I've seen several nice ones pass through there recently.

All true gear heads should have that website bookmarked.

Twisted, I plan on putting it on E-bay in a month or so, when time allows for detailing, pictures, etc. PM me if you are serious and have questions.

I love it. It's a rare combination of a really nice, comfortable sedan, and a rocket ship sports car. Hitting the gas puts a big grin on my face every time. 0-60 in 4.6 seconds is hard to beat without getting into serious exotics. Even the top of the line Porsche is only a 1/10 or two faster.

Here's my "ride". KJ

Happy and Humble :)
