Hi, we have recently bought a scotish wooden mfv with a Gardener 6xl engine. does anyone have any tech info or manuals for this engine? Dan

There's a member down under named Ben. His username is Tidapath. Not sure about the spelling. He put a re-man Gardner in his boat. I think there is a lengthly thread on the installation.

Welcome aboard Venture. Try "Tidahapah" as Benn`s TF name.
Gardiner diesels have a prized reputation here for outlasting both their owners and the boats they are fitted to (slight exaggeration but you get the idea).

Dan,
Welcome on board.
Gardner enthusists in the UK will have all the info you want.
Boatdiesel also have some drawings and info but there is a $25.00 joining fee for 12 months.
Roberts Hall ltd are your source of Gardner mnuals.
Joe Mcool in Ireland is also another good Gardner man in the UK.
Although he did have his business up for sale recently.

I recently put a 6LXB into my boat as a replacement for an old Fiat 8210.
More than happy with the transplant.
When Gardners finnished up it was a sad day in small marine engine world.
Cheers
Benn

Hi all and thanks for your help, the engine as far as I know was reconditioned and installed in the boat around 2004 and she was also converted into a live a board. She came down under her own steam from scotland in 2010 and we live on her in portsmouth. We absolutely love living on her and still maintain her looks and sea worthiness.
