Nautical terms

The friendliest place on the web for anyone who enjoys boating.
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
Reveal all on "tuck".
Sea Talk Nautical Dictionary says "the area deep under the stern where the planking fits into the sternpost". I thought my shipwright was using the term interchangeably with "transom" but did not ask to avoid showing my ignorance.

While researching, I also found: "Recreational Trawler- a pleasure boat built in the style of a trawler". Quite apt.
I was not game to search "cockhole" online (see another thread) for fear of computer damage by porn spam avalanche. Might the location "Castro" have featured?

Usual cure: tighten the luff, harden the sheet, or recut the sail.

NOPE, wrong guess for baggywrinkle.
Ok. Can`t wait for the reveal.
But it does accurately describe the appearance at the luff of a headsail where the luff needs tensioning.

Baggywrinkle=old fashioned chafing gear for your rigging. Not mine. I don't need no chafing gear on my rigging these days. :censored:

Do any of you think this site should be renamed "The Toy Boat Forum"?

Had a toy boat when I was four years old. It was a caricature of a tug boat made of plastic about ten inches long. I don't consider our boats to be in the same category.

Edit: intended this post to be on another thread.

Face it - We're all simply addicted to BOATS. Whatever their functional name may be termed... What a Great Life! I can live long and strong with this physically positive fun-addiction. :thumb:

I dare any TF contributor (that owns a boat) to try and quit their addiction... bet cha don't even want to, caus basically you simply can't anyway! :socool:

Peter, you were indeed on the right track.
"One track.."? Sad but true, however there are other more honorable tracks. If as I suspect my attempt at "double entendre" humor offended Mark, and his friends,I apologize. I would remove the post but the "Edit" button no longer appears, I invite a Moderator to delete it.
