The boat was built at the Fung yard in Hong Kong. According to legend, these hulls were built in the Fung yard, then shipped to Long Beach and the interior was finished to the owners' specifications. Most of the owner designs were a bit unusual when compared to the Garden designed layout of this boat. I have cruised the boat with six full-sized guys and there is plently of room left over.

Elegant woody. Tastefull job of enclosing the pilothouse. Beautiful and well appointed. Photos are really well done too.

That seems like a lot of weight up top to my uneducated eye.

I am not sure how to respond to your comment other than to say that the enclosure was designed by Bill Garden and is of relatively light materials. When I purchased the boat, I had concerns regarding weight aloft also, but for different reasons. I removed a half-sized chest freezer and two large love seats that the previous owner had installed and replaced the seating with chairs. I doubt that Mr. Garden had that kind of weight in mind when drew the enclosure. Based on my offshore experience, she doesn't roll all that much and the enclosure provides a warm and place to operate the boat in PNW waters.

Obviously your boat has served you well and looks very well kept up. For wood boat lovers it should be a strong contender. Do you keep it in covered storage?

I've seen several 40' - 50' boats with "heavy" flybridges added. Bill Garden, Ed Monk, Art DeFever or otherwise, their stability calculations may or may not require more ballast, "fuller" tanks, no furniture beyond weight XYZ, dinghy placement etc. The design modification "notes" should comment on these issues - it would be an interesting read if you have these.

The boat has been kept under cover since I purchased it 1995. Prior to that it was boat house kept for some period of time in Cathlamet, Washington. I have no way of knowing how long.

What I have from Bill Garden is a original red-line mark up of a blueprint from which the enclosure was built. No calculations were included.
